The beer consumption in Indonesia is considered the lowest in Asia. Based on a survey in 1995, the beer consumption per capita in Indonesia was only 0.9 liter per annum, and was extremely lower than the other ASEAN countries. With this picture, Indonesia of course has a very big market potential of beer in the future. Based on such market research, Indonesia’s projected consumption per capita in the year 2000 will only be 1.2 liters, in addition to average 2% population growth of 12%. However, the on going economic crisis has slowed down the wheel. In addition, other factors affecting the beer consumption are price, disposable household income, modern life style, religious influence, government restriction etc.
